It has been almost a year since you left us. Yet in my car a few days ago a song came on. It was one we skated to at the local rink. I had to pull over and just cry. I have lost count of the times I have reached for the phone to call you. We could go for years and not speak, yet call and catch up and it was like it was just yesterday we talked. We were the "different" ones. But that was ok with both of us. I miss you MORE today than the day you left. I want to share so many things with you, but you are no longer there. I know you are in a MUCH better place. But, I am only human and want you here with us. The obituary said you lived a LONG good life. It was good, but MUCH too short. Our family is shattered and broken. Never to be whole again. You once said when you lose both your parents it is a feeling you just can't imagine. That feeling was NOTHING compared to losing you. We were the 3 Musketeers. But now we are 2. I think of you a million times a day. I pray that when I go someone will remember me the way EVERYONE remembers you. I pray for strength for your little girl and check on her when I can. As deep as my loss it is NOTHING compared to hers. We love you and miss you more every day. The grief only grows stronger with each day you are gone. Just know if I am blessed to see you again I look forward to your sweet face welcoming me home. I love you Baby Girl!!

I enjoyed the time I had working with Retha. She was always there when I needed her. Retha had a heart bigger then she was. She will be missed so very much and will always have a place in my heart. Love you Retha

I loved talking with Retha when Morris was working here at Ocean Spray and enjoyed her company even more when she joined The Ocean Spray workforce. I don't think I ever held a conversation with her where she was not bragging about Linda - she was so proud of her daughter. Retha was such a wonderful, unique person. My heart is heavy with sadness. There will never be another person that could be as strong, caring, energetic, as well as so full of wisdom. I thank God for the honor of having known Retha. The world is a much sadder place without her in it to brighten the way.

We made a pact not to say "Good-Bye" but rather "I'll see you later". Retha, I'm holding on to that promise. I will see you again.

The sun doesn't shine as bright this morning as it did a week ago. The world is just not the same without our beloved friends, Charley and Retha. We loved Retha from the moment we met her and she took us as her own from the start. She was an amazing woman, tiny in stature, but she had a heart as big as the sky and her strength was beyond what most humans can ever muster. Retha just made you want to be a better person. Her smile, her bright shining eyes, and yes, even "the look" is forever branded in our hearts. We will not say Goodbye, instead, as she always said "See ya later!"

How can you sum up a life time of memories in a few short words, she was the best sister in this world. She had the biggest heart because she loved all of us and she showed it in her smile. Family was everything to Retha. She loved Linda with all she had in her. Then she was lucky enough to marry Charley O'Shield and she added his family to hers. Just remember how much she loved us all. She will live in our hearts forever. We are sad here on earth but she is happy because she is with her other family now. My Beloved Sister Rest In Peace my love.
