Jay Sims #3741, Retired Dallas PD posted a condolence

I want to send my condolences to the Harris Family. I worked with L.B. at Dallas PD some 40+ years ago. My elderly mother lived in University Park alone and L.B. would take the time to go by her house and check on her, which I appreciated very much. L.B. was a fine officer and friend. RIP sir.

LB Was truly one of the DPD Good Guys. As DPD Guys say, LB was"One Good Po-lice!" It was an Honor to have known him,and served with him at DPD. He was a Mentor to all of us Rookie Police who were fortunate enough to have worked with him, and around him. My deepest sympathy to his wife, family, and many friends. Godspeed, and may you RIP my Brother in Blue on this your final earthly signal 66. John R. Allen

LB...what can I say? Worked together at UP for many years. I was a young buck; him a seasoned veteran. He was the kindest officer and the toughest. Saw him go by every now and then to eat a sandwich with a lonely elderly widow woman to keep her company, then not long after, dress down (and boy the guy needed it) one of the most weathly recognized sports figures in Dallas. LB wasn’t afraid of much.
All the bad guys knew him, yet respected him. He could hold his own. Great trainer and full of wisdom. Grumpy and crusty most of the time, but cut up With “hey, we could be tight...!” From time to time. Always ready for his days off to get out to Lake Fork. Took me to meet Harvey Goff for the first time. Ugh. Never will forget that. Thanks for the good times LB. Fair winds.

Margie - I am so sorry to hear of L.B.'s passing. I truly enjoyed the times we sat in your living room chatting about life. He was a good man.
Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
