Obituary of Floyd Rowell

Funeral services for Floyd Rowell, age 90, of Dallas, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Henry officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Emblem Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to service time. Floyd passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was born on May 6, 1928 in Emblem, TX, the son of Harvey Franklin and Jeffie Lee Roberson Rowell. Floyd served in the United States Army as an airplane mechanic from 1950 to 1952. He married Joyce L. Morrison on March 4, 1955 in Dallas, TX. She survives. He later retired from Kroger Food Stores as the produce manager. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by sons, Larry G. Rowell, James A. Rowell, both of Dallas, TX, daughter, Patricia A. Stephens and husband Michael of The Colony, TX, granddaughters, Kimberly Ramirez and husband Alejandro of Georgetown, TX, Sarah Stephens of Plano, TX, and great-grandson to be Gabriel Blake Ramirez. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Ronald G. Rowell, brothers, James Loren Rowell, William D. Rowell, Oliver F. Rowell, Deryl Rowell, Darwin D. Rowell, Byron Rowell, twin brother, Cloyd Rowell, and sisters, Susie Bell Murray, and Mavis Erlene Hayter. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
