Obituary of Angela Mitchell

Funeral service for Angela Deaton Mitchell, 53, of Sulphur Bluff will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Sulphur Bluff Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Newsom and Dr. Cecil McLeod officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Tim Glenn, Wade Juarez, James Kennon, Clay Mitchell, Cole Mitchell, John Mitchell, Don Sapaugh, and Mark Bassham serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Teates, Ronnie Wyatt, Casey Ross, and Herbert Anderson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Angela passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at her residence. She was born on December 14, 1960 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Darrell and Carol (Dillard) Deaton. She married W.O. Mitchell, Jr. on June 20, 1980 in Sulphur Bluff. He survives. She was a member of the Sulphur Bluff Baptist Church, a former Board member of Sulphur Bluff ISD, and worked as a loan officer and assistant Vice President for City National Bank for over thirty years. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her parents, son, Clay Mitchell, of Sulphur Bluff, daughters, Courtney Mitchell of Austin, Carmen Dufrene and husband Bill of Sulphur Bluff, grandchildren, Brady and Benton Dufrene, brother, Brad Deaton of Sulphur Springs, brother-in-law, John Mitchell and wife Laura of Pickton, sisters-in-law, Anida Reed and husband Greg of Como, Eva Froneberger and husband Johnny of Sulphur Springs, father-in-law , Oran Mitchell, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Janice Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
