Obituary of Lela Radney
Funeral services for Lela Vititow Radney, age 64, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church in the Spence Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Wood County with Dustan Radney, Micah Radney, Chris Radney, Matt Beisser, Jake Radney, Patrick Radney, Ryan Radney and Cody Frederick, Nathan Radney, Justin Overly and Trenton Overly serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Radney, Gary Moon and Paul Brown. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Radney passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Mrs. Radney was born on January 31, 1949 in Sulphur Springs the daughter of Lawrence Thomas and Emma Gay (Thompson) Vititow. She married Lorell Radney on June 24, 1966 in Sulphur Springs. He survives. Mrs. Radney was a homemaker, for 12 years she worked for the SheriffÂ’s office as a dispatcher, jailer and had her peace officer license, she was a member of the SheriffÂ’s posse, she was an environmental code officer for 2 years, was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, member of the Chamber of Commerce and worked for charities such as Blue Santa. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Michael Patrick Radney and wife Shannon of Campbell, Sean Dwayne Radney and wife Tisha Ann of Mineola, Joshua Beau Radney and wife Tonya Louise of Sulphur Springs, Daniel Thomas Radney of New Iberia, LA, Christie Gay Frederick and husband Roy of New Iberia, LA, Betty Earnest of Tennessee, sister, Laura Burrescia and husband Ricky of Lubbock. 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son William Jason Radney, and sister, Sherry Ann Fox. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
