Obituary of Grace Harris

Funeral services for Grace “Bip” Evelyn Harris, age 55, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Cypress Center on Como Street with Rev. Barry Stribling officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Stanley Harris, Kelvin Harris, Marcus Harris, David Hearne, Tony Thomas and Daymon Nash serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Clayton, Keiston Clayton, Cody Clayton, Cameron Fountain, Oscar Thomas and Johnny Thomas. There will be no formal visitation. Grace passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at her residence. She was born on May 16, 1958 in Hopkins County, the daughter of Carl Thomas, Sr. and Mary Jane (Johnson) Thomas. She married Dewayne Harris on June 27, 1992. He survives. Grace worked for the Sulphur Springs Independent School at Douglas for 33 years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Curtena Clayton and husband Keith, grandsons, Keiston and Cody Clayton, sisters, Annie Smith and husband Aubrey, Dollie Smith and husband Thomas, Glandy Thomas, Carolyn Horton and husband Charles, brother, Carl Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Roger Thomas, Ivery Thomas, Wayne Thomas, sister, Stella Thomas.
