Obituary of Rex Talmage

Funeral services for Rex Dale Talmage, age 88, of Salem OR, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with the Hopkins County Coalition serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to service time at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Talmage passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 in Salem, OR. Mr. Talmage was born on January 11, 1925 in Barry County, Michigan, the son of Ansil Osee and Louise Talmage. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. He serviced in the United States Navy During WWII. Mr. Talmage was sold insurance for many years and later in life went to the seminary. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Talmage and wife Chris of Sulphur Springs, Daniel Talmage and wife Debbie of Detroit, MI, daughter, Rebecca Haugh and husband Tom of Atlanta, GA, sister, Mabel Valech of Salem, OR, grandchildren, Jamie, Melissa, Amanda, Katie, Eric, Blake and Caleb, 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorraine Lindburg Talmage of over 50 years, and second wife Linda Maddox Talmage of 7 years, son, David Talmage, brothers, Eugene Roy Talmage and Paul Talmage, sister, Frances Litt.
