Obituary of Roberta Flippin

Funeral service for Roberta Flippin, 93, of the Nelta Community, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Newsom officiating and Bro. Jason Cunningham assisting. Interment will follow at Nelta Cemetery with Jess Cunningham, Jase Cunningham, Justin Cunningham, Jake Cunningham, Russell VanBibber, and Mike Flippin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Stevens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Roberta passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. She was born on April 16, 1924 in the Nelta Community, the daughter of John and Vida Hargrave. She married Garth A. Flippin on December 5, 1943 in Sulphur Springs. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1994. She was a homemaker all her life and of the Church of Christ faith. She loved her family and enjoyed collecting dolls, tea pots, and hats. She is survived by son, Mike Flippin and wife Montie of Dike, granddaughter, Sally Cunningham and husband Jason of Dike, great-grandchildren, Jess Cunningham, Jase Cunningham, Justin Cunningham, Jake Cunningham, and Jenna O’Neal.
