Obituary of Kate Jackson Petrea

Funeral services for Kate Jackson Petrea, 30, of Yantis, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Randles officiating. Interment will follow at Old Tarrant Cemetery with Drew Fisher, Brady Fisher, Cody Smithers, Paul French, Mason Petrea, and Wayne Puckett serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., prior to service time. Kate passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Hopkins County. She was born on December 2, 1986 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of W.A. Jackson IV and Ludonna Fisher. Kate worked in Home Health and was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs. She is survived by her mother, Ludonna and husband B.J. Smithers of Sulphur Springs, father, W.A. Jackson IV and wife Georgia Freeman of Charlotte, NC, spouse, Mitchell Petrea of Yantis, daughter, Tracy Smithers of Sulphur Springs, sister, Aly Lassig and husband Jarrett of Lyford, TX, grandparents, JoAnn Jackson of Ennis, Fred and Ruth Fisher of Sulphur Springs, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, W.A. Jackson III. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Commerce High School, 3315 Washington Street, Commerce, TX 75428.
