Obituary of Evelyn Sanders

Funeral services for Evelyn Sanders, age 91, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Comer officiating and Rev. Dennis Morris and Bro. Tommy Hall assisting. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Larry Pierson, Gerald Heard, Monty Tipps, Kenny Garmon, and John Rhoades serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be The Couples Class of Davis Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to service time. Evelyn passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Houston, TX. She was born on August 13, 1925 in Hunt County, TX, the daughter of Lonnie A. and Jody Sloan Denton. She married Wesley C. Sanders on February 22, 1947 in Sulphur Springs, TX. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, crafter, and seamstress, as well as a member of The Davis Street Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, Beverly Goodwin and husband Wesley of Houston, TX, and grandchildren, Marla D. Goodwin and Ethan Whitlow, both of Bryan, TX.
