Obituary of Charles Robertson Sewell
~~Funeral services for Charles R. Sewell, age 90, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Sewell passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. Mr. Sewell was born on February 7, 1927 in Malvern, AR, the son of Charles L. Sewell and Elizabeth Robertson Sewell. He married Louise Thornton on November 29, 1985 in Tucson, AZ. She survives. Mr. Sewell owned and operated Sewell Mineral Exploration. Mr. Sewell was a founding member of the Miner’s Club of the Southwest, a member of the A.I.M.E.” American Institute of Mining Engineers”, he was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church, and a Mason with the Rockport Lodge #58 in Arkansas. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Michael Stewart Sewell and wife Leticia of Plano, daughters, Beth Sewell Goad of Waxahachie and Ginger Worthington of Coppell, grandchildren, Charlie, Jeremy, Maggie, Chase, Beccah, Sadona, Page and Lety, great-grandchildren, Alisa, Brianna and Chloe, nephew, Jennings Sewell and his special caregiver, Margaret Harris. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Wilson Sewell who passed away on July 19, 1985, his son, Charles Wilson Sewell, his brother, William Dow Sewell.
