Obituary of Lottie Marie Chamness
Funeral services for Marie Chamness, age 88 of Yantis, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shannon Hassell and Travis Aven officiating. Interment will follow at Arbala Cemetery with Dwight Germer, Freddie Chamness, Allen Lynn Chamness, Josh Chamness, Chaisen Chamness and Gary Aven serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Attaway, William McDaniel and Travis Aven. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Chamness passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. Mrs. Chamness was born on January 1, 1925 in Arkansas, the daughter of Charlie W. and Turie J. (Norton) Owens. She married Bill Chamness on August 2, 1945 in Oklahoma. He survives. Mrs. Chamness was a homemaker and a member of Yantis Baptist Church where she was the Recording secretary for 17 years. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Carolyn Kay Burgert and husband Ronald of Dallas, Billy Mack Chamness and wife Sharon of Sulphur Springs and Vicki Germer and husband Dwight of Grand Prairie, sisters, Mildred Lawson and Ruby Bain both of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Robby Chamness, Keisha Wilkinson, Chaisen Chamness, Tosha Michelle Bontrager and Zoe Germer, great-grandchildren, Olivia Chamness, Nicholas Chamness, Michael Chamness, Madeline Chamness, Isabella Chamness and Cade Bontrager. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Faye Bills, and brother, David Owens.
