Obituary of Leonard Denton

Funeral services for Leonard Denton, age 80, of Yantis, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron George officiating. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Gerald Denton, Randy Denton, Aaron Walker, Perry Shirley, Eric Dalton and Jeffery Dalton serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Denton passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Hunt County Regional Hospital in Greenville. He was born on July 15, 1936 in Van Zandt County the son of Felix Francis Denton and Minnie Gee Sallings Denton. He married Norma Lou Hill on December 29, 1956 in Dallas, TX. She survives. Mr. Denton was a general contractor and of the Church of Christ Faith. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, Jerry Denton (Katherine Walker) of Sulphur Springs and Ronnie Denton (Mary) of Yantis, sister, Florence Marie Hernandez (Jerry Lewis) of Canton, grandchildren, Jeffrey Denton, Jennifer Wheatly, Ann Theall, Asheley Birchfield and Amber Hicks, great-grandchildren, Robert James Denton, David Leonard Denton, Brady James Birchfield, Jhett Austin Hicks, Skylar Hope Hicks, Hanah Wheatly, Gracie Wheatly, Bethany Wheatly, Noah Wheatly, Abby Theall, Emma Theall and Cate Theall.
