Obituary of Marilyn Evans
Marilyn Joyce “Micey” Evans was born on Thursday, November 22, 1951 on Thanksgiving Day to the parentage of Lena Faye Hall and Harvey D. Evans. She attended school in the Sulphur Springs Independent School District and graduated with the Class of 1970. She accepted Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. Both parents preceded her in death.
Marilyn was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Marilyn proudly worked many years at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital and at local nursing homes in Sulphur Springs in environmental services. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Tyra Evans and LaTonya Dugan (Damon) of Sulphur Springs, three sons, Larry J. Evans (NaKesha) of Sulphur Springs, Kevin L. Evans (Afra) of Dallas, and Brian Evans (Ashanta) of Dallas, one sister, Francine Hall of Sulphur Springs, brothers, Jimmy Evans (Jeanetta) of Quitman, Richard E. and Donald Hall of Sulphur Springs, and Rodney Hall (Regina) of Sulphur Springs. Preceded in death by three sisters, Brenda, Wanda, and Patricia. Brothers preceded in death by Ray Charles “Chip” Evans and Jerry Sims. Fifteen grandchildren, Jeffery, Markeisha, DaKeiston, Taja, Colton, Kevin M., Asya, and DaQualin Evans, RaKea Harris, DaMiyon, and DaMia Dugan, Taylor, Embryea, Dominique Harrison, & Kourtlynn Hudgens of Dallas. Great grandchildren, Kylee and Kennedi Smith of Tyler, Bentley Cabell, Quinesha and DaKaylan Johnson.
She will be greatly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A special Thank you to Bertha Shaw, Gay Johnson, Bobbie Reece, Mary Harrison, Mary Taylor, and the staff of Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. Special care giver Kimberly Hall Johnson.
