Obituary of Carol Krause
Carol Madeline Buckwald was born on July 9, 1923 in Akron Ohio to John and Mabel Ione Hupp Buckwald. While working at Fort Lewis in Tacoma Washington during World War II she met Charlie Lewis Kirkpatrick from Cumby, Texas whom she married in 1946 and had three children Gerald Kirkpatrick, Pamela Kirkpatrick Hennig and Cynthia Kirkpatrick Humphries. She also worked as a riveter in an airplane production plant during World War II.
After the passing of her husband in 1959 she moved to Tyler, Texas where she attended and graduated from Texas Eastern School of Nursing in 1963. She worked at East Texas Medical Center for 10 years where she was the Supervising Nurse for the ETMC emergency facility.
In 1969 she married Pizzini Price and moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas where she worked for the State of Texas Long Term Care Unit for 17 years inspecting nursing homes in a nine county area.
In 1988, after the death of Pizzini Price, she met Jordan Krause while fishing at Lake Fork, and married him that same year.
She is survived by her husband, Jordan Krause; her son Gerald Kirkpatrick; her daughter Cynthia Humphries; grandchildren, Charles Humphries, Heather Hennig, Robert Kirkpatrick, Michael Kirkpatrick, Alesia Gabbard and Jason Williamson and; great-grandchildren, Grayson Humphries, Jamie Herrin, and Tanner Dutton and; nieces Linda Buckwald and Nancy Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charlie Lewis Kirkpatrick and Pizzini Price; her daughter, Pamela Hennig; grandson, Tye Hennig and; son-in-law Jim Hennig.
The celebration of her life will include visitation at West Oaks Funeral Home on Sunday, October, 27, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and services at West Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directed by E. Sam Campbell with burial following in Tyler, Texas at the Cathedral in the Pines. Pallbearers are Gerald Kirkpatrick, Charles Humphries, John Krause, Robert Kirkpatrick, Michael Kirkpatrick, Jamie Herrin, Michael Gabbard, and Todd Dutton. Honorary pallbearers are the Wesley Methodist Crusaders class. Please make a donation to your local animal care center or to your favorite charity.
