Obituary of Monwin Cline

Buddy Cline, 70, of Cumby, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 28, 1943 in Plainview, TX the son of Edwin and Monta Dell (Hopper) Cline. Buddy grew up in Plainview, TX where he worked at McDonaldÂ’s Trading Post as shop foreman. He married Ardith White on June 25, 1965 in Plainview, TX. He was a member of Church of Christ faith and an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Elks. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, where he was in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. After retirement in 2005, he and Ardith moved to East Texas to be closer to family. He enjoyed racing homing pigeons, fishing, mechanics and metal fabrication. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his mother, son, Lance Cline and wife Shelly of New Boston, TX, daughter, Nikki Steele and husband Ron of Royse City, TX, brothers, Bruce Cline and wife Amelia of Plainview, TX, Kenny Cline and wife Debbie of Baytown, TX, grandchildren, Kara Braunitzer, Sydney Shuyler, Addison Shuyler, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
