Obituary of Samuel Moody

Samuel T. “Pops” Moody, Sr., age 74, of Brashear passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Moody was born on April 27, 1939 in Dallas County, TX, the son of Samuel Isom and Mary Roberta (Johnson) Moody. He married Kathy Ann Venn in June of 1969 and she preceded him in death. Mr. Moody was a professional truck driver for over 32 years and was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by two sons, Samuel T. Moody, Jr., of Brashear, Bobby Moody and wife Tonya of Scroggins, daughters, Marjorie K. Saenz and husband Leo of Winfield, KS, Zella Rubio and husband Gabriel of Brashear, sisters, Mary Louise Dennis of Winfield, KS, Elsie Skinner of Grand Prairie, Gracie Ramos of Blue Ridge, TX, Florine Dzenowski of Bailey, and Sarah Torres of Bonham, grandchildren, Leo Issac Saenz, Gabriel A. Rubio, Jr., Monica N. Rubio, Blaine Moody and Chance Moody, great-grandchildren, Aliviynne Saenz, Adler Saenz and Novalynn Rubio along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James F. Moody, J. C. Moody, and Walter Moody. A Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
