Obituary of Gennela Jennings

Funeral services for Gennela B. Jennings, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Bryan Scott, Rodney Tucker, Robert Stevens, James Bland, Danny Jennings, Jimmy Stevens, Wilbon Johnson, Jeremy Hipp and Riley Jennings serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Leiland Walker. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Jennings passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013. Mrs. Jennings was born on March 24, 1922 in Yantis the daughter of H. M. and Loretta (Folmar) Bryant. She married Olon Jennings and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Jennings was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by her children, Robert Jennings and wife Jane of Carrollton, TX, Martha Stevens of Kingwood, TX, Cheryl Barnett and husband Larry of Washington, UT, Barbara Bland and husband Don of Forney, TX, Diana Scott and husband Wayne, Linda Tucker and husband Archie, Ben Jennings and wife Patsy, Joe Jennings and wife Patricia and David Jennings all of Sulphur Springs, 28 grandchildren, 42 great- grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Richard Jennings and Larry Jennings, brother, Hammond McCall Bryant, Jr, sisters, Dorene Rhoades, Elizabeth Johnson and Dorthea Napoli.
