Obituary of Carol Myers

Graveside service for Carol Jane Myers, 78, of Point, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Emory City Cemetery with Bro. Doyle Hayes officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, prior to service time, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Myers passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Baylor in Dallas. She was born on May 19, 1935 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Glen and Esther (Freed) Thomas. She worked as an Education Assistant for Texas A&M University of Commerce. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Point. She married George Myers on February 27, 1965 in Lee Summit, MO. He survives. In addition to her husband she is survived by son, Don Myers and wife Shelly of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Tate and Kaitlyn Myers, and sister-in-law, Peggy Thomas of Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Thomas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army at donate.salvationarmyusa.org.
