Obituary of Terry Riley
Funeral services for Terry Lynn Riley, age 59, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Hansen and Pastor Ron Smedley officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Kirk Reams, Darren Renshaw, Lance Hooten, Sean Modrall, James McIntier and David Nordin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny “Elvis” Nordin, Joe Hooten, Walt Mannon, Tony Anglin and the employees of Hooten’s Hardware. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Terry passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Terry was born on November 8, 1953 in Enid, OK, the son of Ivan “Tub” Riley and Venetta Lanning Riley. He married Tonya Nordin on May 5, 1972 in Sulphur Springs, TX. She survives. Terry worked for Hooten’s Hardware in Quitman and before that worked for Jim Masters True Value for over 30 years. He served as commissioner and president for the HCBBA for many years as well as coaching baseball. For 4 years Terry served as president for Crimes Stoppers. He was a member of His House Ministry. In addition to his wife Terry is survived by three sons, Brandon Riley and wife Brenda of Westminster, CO, Blake Riley and wife Diana of Royse City and Britt Riley of Winnsboro, two brothers, Doug Riley and wife of Sidney, ILL and Larry Riley and wife Shannon of Sulphur Springs, TX, one sister, Linda McIntier and husband Jim of Wichita, TX, one grandson, Jax Riley, and mother-in-law, Una Bill South.
