I was so sorry to hear the passing of Gary. I started first grade with him, graduated with him and only lived a few streets over from his wonderful family. He was always so much fun and never a dull moment in school. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I know he will be missed greatly. Always know that he is watching over each and every one of you. God Bless.

Gary "ICEMAN" McLarry at Texas A&M Municipal Fire School. Chief McLarry served for seven years as an Instructor. The Perfect Mentor and Leader. The Water Wings was so he didn't drown if he fell overboard on the ship project.

Oh how I cherish many fond memories of the entire McLarry family!!! I wish that I could hug all of your necks, especially BJ's. She was always so good to us (the cheerleaders) when we were growing up. My heart is very sad to learn that Gary passed. He was a good friend to Tut (Steve) and me. We saw him last at my niece's Midlothian graduation around 2000-2001. Gary looked great with his handle bar mustache although he was thin and told us about his diabitis. He saved the day at our wedding party as he voluntarily tended the bar. I am so sorry that a wonderful person left us too early in life. Our 40th high school reunion is Oct 25. He will be remembered. Jackie and Michael, I cannot imagine how it feels to lose a sibling. I dread those days. God heals! Love always, Cookie

He will be greatly missed. I got the privilege to know him when I was in the Police Academy. He inspired myself and so many in our careers with his words of wisdom during our graduation. He is a great loss to the Law Enforcement family. We must carry on his passion, integrity and love for the public. My heart truly hurts for everyone on his passing. Many prayers to the family, friends as well as our fellow brothers and sisters.

I worked for the Grand Prairie police dept for 32 years and graduated from GPHS and have known Gary my entire life. I was shocked of learning of his death. Gary's dad GIB was an inspiration and mentor to all the youth in GP, so it comes as no surprise Gary followed in his footsteps. yes Gary was tuff and also a super friend and a Great Gopher. truly sorry for your loss.

I was on the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department with Gary Mac all throughout the 1990's. We worked a many of fires together, made a many of EMS calls, and worked a many of MVAs through out the years. If Gary was with you one knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he had your back. He loved being on the Fire Department and it loved him. If all of the pieces of equipment could talk you would hear hours and hours worth of stories of the great times we all had together while being on the department. It seems like yesterday...
Gary was a modern John Wayne which I always admired. He did not mix words and you always knew where he stood. He was a man of character that had an iron fist but a heart of gold. He loved his family, his country and the good Lord above. There will never be another one like Gary Mac. I will always have fond memories of him. Rest in peace my brother for you will be truly missed. May God bless Gary's family during this difficult time.

Gary was a fine young man that played for me at GPHS many years ago. IT is very unfortunate he was taken at such an early age. I saw him a few years ago in Ft. Worth and we spent time getting caught up. He was a grown man but I could still see a lot of the old days in him. I consider my self very fortunate having known all the McLarry family. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU

I am at a loss. I have looked up to you for as long as I can remember as one of the toughest men I know. You're defiantly your family's rock and admired by so many people. Your work here is done and must have something pretty special to do up there. Go get 'em Cowboy and fly high. Charlie, Randy, and Troy my heart goes out to you.

My condolences to you ALL, mother, father, bros. wife,& children. Gary was one of those people that you felt proud to know and even more to be related to. I remember the few times that I saw him, at funerals. he was very family/cousin oriented. That was great. I wished I could have known him more. I'm sure ALOT of people will miss him.

Troy, I was so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I know how much he meant to you and the respect that you had for him. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, I know he must have been a fine man to have raised such a remarkable and caring son. May God be with you and your family. Peggy

Gary was tough as nails but had a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off of his back to help a friend in need no matter what, when, or where he was there. I am truly blessed to know the kind of man Gary is, and I make this statement because he is still watching over and protecting us all. Till we meet again someday, We Love You and Miss You.

I am so sorry for not only your loss, but our loss. I never met a finer man than Gary. He was an example of what every man should strive to be; his honor, integrity, and loyalty was off the chart. I was so blessed to have been his friend, and he paid me the biggest compliment, when he called me his brother from another mother. Rest In Peace My Friend - Strike
