Obituary of Dora Deaton
Dora Ann Deaton, age 71, of Sulphur Springs, TX passed away September 10, 2013 at her residence. She was born September 24, 1941, in Sulphur Springs, TX to Allen and Myrtle Chapman Deaton. Dora Ann was an employee of North East Texas Farmer’s Co-Op for 30+ years. She was of the Baptist faith. Dora Ann is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Greta Deaton, Larry Don and Judy Deaton of Sulphur Springs, and Harold and Moverine Deaton of Dike. She is also survived by sister and brother-in-law Jo Ruth and Bill Hodge of Sulphur Springs. “Chub” also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Melinda Deaton of Dike, Amy Lowrie of Athens, Debbie Tucker and husband, Terry of Abilene, David “Toots” Deaton and Sharon of Sulphur Springs, and Tammy Gamblin and husband, Gregg of Mount Vernon; great nephews and nieces: Payton Lowrie, Will and Rynn Gamblin, Olivia and Reece Tucker. She is also survived by special caregivers: Myra McGill, Lawanda Rape, Rose Dial, and Cheryl Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, James Earl Deaton. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Emblem Cemetery with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Pallbearers will be Cecil Moore, Harold Ball, Billy McQueen, Roberto Rios, William Penson, and Chris Penson. Honorary pallbearer is Joe Elmore. A special thanks to the ladies of Legacy Hospice for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Emblem Cemetery in care of Dudley Goggans, 1913 Raintree Circle, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
