Obituary of Flora Lee Simmons

Graveside service for Flora Lee Simmons, 95, of the Reilly Springs Community, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Alan Simmons, Clint Simmons, Scott Kenley, Blair Kenley, Micah Simmons, and Keith Klein. Flora passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs. She was born on July 26, 1919 in Ferris, TX, the daughter of Henry Clay and Joe Anne Frances (Gardner) Smart. She married Temple Guy Simmons on September 21, 1943 in Terrell, TX. He preceded her in death. Flora worked for Dr. Dietz who was an optician for 24 years. She is survived by sons, Michael Guy Simmons and wife Donna of Rogers, AR, Richard Dale Simmons and wife Anita of Arlington, daughter, Carla June Kenley and husband Phil of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Alan Simmons, Lindsey Carrouth, Clint Simmons, Kristi Kenley, Scott Kenley, Blair Kenley, and great-grandchildren, Micah Simmons, Kaylee Simmons, Isaac Simmons, Jenevee Simmons, Harrison Carrouth, Bailey Kate Carrouth, Tanner Kenley, Samuel Kenley, Addison Kenley, Regan Kenley, and Faye Simmons. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Dorris Woodrow Smart, Carl Bryant Smart, and grandson, Michael Simmons.
