Obituary of Lyna Jane Bryant
Funeral services for Lyna Jane Bryant, 58, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Eden officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Juan Olvera, Reed Bryant, Roger Thompson, Roy Thompson, Josh Hans, and “Moose” Rodney Worley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Bryant passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, TX. She was born on March 14, 1955 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Glenn W. and Estella (Adams) Thompson. She married Roger Bryant on September 29, 1979 in Ft. Worth, TX. He survives. She received her Masters’ Degree from TCU. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she was an organist and pianist, and was also involved in the Community Bible Study. She taught 5th grade music at Douglas Intermediate and ECLC. She gave private music lessons, played the harp, and was a member of the North East Texas Coral Society. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her mother, son, Reed Bryant of Sulphur Springs, daughters, Lauren Olvera and husband Juan of Sulphur Springs, Leslie Hans and husband Josh of Dallas, grandchildren, Jasmine, Maya, and Adrian Olvera, brothers, Roger Thompson and wife Reggie of Chattanooga, TN, and Roy Thompson and wife Pat of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her father, and brother, Russell Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1000 Texas Street, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
