Obituary of Peggy Darlin South

Funeral services for Peggy Darlin South, age 81, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hall officiating and Roy McGahee assisting. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Zach Adair, Kenny Hayes, Tommy Williams, Pete Darlin, Harold Ball, Chris Adair and Tim Tanton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy McGahee, Dr. Jerry Jennings, Dr. Claude Reynolds, Dr. Bill Dietze, Dr. Ronny Stanley and Bob Kearby. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Peggy passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. Peggy was born on May 21, 1933 in Cherokee, TX, the daughter of W. C. and Mildred (Whitt) Sawyer. She married Pete Darlin in Dallas, TX, in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1998. She married Leslie South in Greenville, TX, in 2000 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Peggy worked as a radiology secretary at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital for 28 years. She was a hospital board member at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital and a member of Grace Family Church. She is survived by her children, Jim Sells and wife BJ of Greenville, Gloria Kearby and husband Rick of Michigan, Richard Darlin and wife Kim, Kim Holloway, Linda Adair and husband Jerry all of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, David Sells, Ryan Sells, Suzanne Blanchard, Mathew Kearby, Erika Bogerd, Jennifer Williams, Kristi Hayes, Pete Darlin, Zach Adair, Jackie Ball and Chris Adair, brothers, Winston Sawyer and Larry Sawyer, sister, Lila Ann Sawyer, 18 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Sawyer, and grandchild, Amanda Moreland.
