Obituary of David Cooper

Funeral services for David "Chopper" Cooper, 62, of Cumby will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Cypress Baptist Center. Interment will follow at Mel Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. David passed away on June 4, 2014 at Hunt Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 17, 1951 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Arthur "A.J." and Arthur Lean Cooper. He earned his masters electrician license from Skyline and also worked for Texas A&M Commerce, retiring in 2010. He was one of the founding member of the Knights Motorcycle Club in Sulphur Springs, and the founder and National President of the King Riders Motorcycle Club based in Cumby. Horses, Motorcycles, Antique Cars, Gardening and Barbequing was his passion. He is Survived by his wife Cheri Brigham-Cooper of Greenville, TX, whom he married on August 15, 1998. In addition to his wife, David is also survived by daughters, Sunji Hill, Ketina Cooper, and MyKea Payne of Sulphur Springs, sons, Daniel Cooper of Sulphur Springs, Patrick Fullen of Dallas, maternal grandmother, Geradine Hornes-Harper of Dallas, Jestina Cooper of Wichita Falls, sister, Diane Margadonna of Sulphur Springs, brothers, Randy Cooper of Quinlan, Robert Cooper and Tony Cooper of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Miya, Gergory, Jakeryan, Issac, Isiah, Gage, Xavier, Dedonte, Denote, Neisha, Allan, Kaleb, and Kaleigh, other children, Gerald "Trey" Weatherall of Lancaster, Adriana Kelly of Greenville, Takiya "T.K." Savage and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Harrison Cooper, sister, Brenda Lou Harper, grandparents, Curley and Fannie Lou Harper, Arthur Cooper, Sr. and Ella Mae Cooper Lewis, great-grandparents, Walter Clay and Lela Rape-Clay.
