Obituary of Felton Finnie, Sr.

Funeral services for Felton Finnie, Sr., 80, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at MLK Church of Christ with Bro. Andre Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery with Richard Finnie, Jr., Robert Finnie, Joshua Leftrick, Weldon Wright, Bryon Sanders and Rodney Sanders serving as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Finnie passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Finnie was born on May 29, 1933 in Como, TX, the son of Floyd B. Sanders and Verna Finnie. He married Rose Mary Wright on January 21, 1956 in Como, TX. She survives. Mr. Finnie retired from Rockwell International and was a member of MLK Church of Christ. In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by son, Felton Finnie, Jr. of Sulphur Springs, daughters, Carla Harper and husband Howard of Sulphur Springs, Carolyn Leftrick of Sulphur Springs, brothers, Joe B. Finnie and wife Lou of Sulphur Springs, Willie Sanders and wife Lottie of Sweney, TX, Curtis Sanders and wife Frankie of Sweney, TX, Paul Sanders and wife Claudia of Lufkin, TX, sisters, Dorothy Martin and husband Eddie of Duncanville, TX, Geraldine Malone and husband Van Auther of Ft. Worth, TX, Darnetta Duncan of Riverside, CA, grandchildren, Marcia Finnie, Tanya Robinson, Richard Finnie, Jr., Joshua Leftrick and Robert Finnie, 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard Finnie, Sr., brothers, Travis James and Floyd Sanders, Jr., grandson, Brian Finnie.
