Obituary of Sybil Ragan

Funeral services for Sybil Edna Ragan, 82, of Katy, TX, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Henry officiating. Interment will follow at South Liberty Cemetery with Jason Harrison, Dustin Blalock, Eugene Heggan, and Heather Robinson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service time. Mrs. Ragan passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Houston, TX. She was born on November 17, 1930 in Tahoka, TX, the daughter of Ernest Taylor and Mary Lou (Robinson) Cawthron. She married Joe Kenneth Ragan on November 15, 1948 in Tahoka, TX. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1992. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Mesquite. She retired from the City of Mesquite after 32 years. She is survived by her children, Joretta Nolan and husband Lawrence, Sandra Robinson and husband Michael, grandchildren, Michelle Harrison and husband Jason, Heather Robinson, Denise Heggan and husband Eugene, Dustin Blalock, great-grandchildren, Caleb, Noah, Brook, and Eli Heggan, Thomas and Nicole Harrison, and sister, Winona Jones of Lubbock, TX. In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, E.T. Cawthron, Jr. and Kenneth Cawthron.
