Obituary of Daniel Melton Jones, Jr.

Funeral service for Daniel “Danny” Melton Jones, Jr., 65, of Frankston, TX, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Martin officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Black Oak Cemetery with Charles Carns, Charles Carns, JR., Cody Carns, Tim Rabon, C.W. Gregory, and Alex Rabon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Junior Brown and Jerry Kellett. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Jones passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. He was born on August 28, 1948 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Daniel Melton Jones, SR. and Berniece McClure Jones. He served in the US Military and was of the Baptist faith. He was a self-employed Automobile Wholesaler. He is survived by son, Daniel Brett Jones, daughters, Shannon Rabon, Amy Willis, and Amber Jones, brothers, Ronald Jones and Larry Jones, sister, Jorene Orr, grandchildren, Courtney Chavanne, Cori Lee Buck, Lisa Welch, Meaghan Rabon, Megan Welch, Elizabeth Welch, Erin Clem, Christopher Rabon, Alex Rabon, and John Ever Welch. He was preceded in death by his parents.
