Obituary of Jose Cardona

Funeral services for Jose Marino Cardona, age 75, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Maria Susai Avula officiating. Burial will follow at the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 PM Friday, August 30, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Cardona died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born on July 29, 1938 in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico the son of Juan and Jovita Garcia Cardona. He married Esperanza Aguilar in Guanajuato, Mexico and she survives. Mr. Cardona worked in the Landscaping business and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Esperanza Aguilar Cardona of Sulphur Springs, two sons; Mario Cardona of Sulphur Springs and Oscar Cardona of Rogers, AR; five daughters; Elia Cardona of Denver, CO, Leticia Cardona of Rogers, AR, Juana Mirella Cardona, Maria Elvia Cardona and Ana Luz Cardona all of GTO, Mexico, four brothers; Kintil Cardona, and Rogelio Cardona both of California, Isreal Cardona of Tijuana, Mexico and Armando Cardona of Dallas, four sisters; Ingracia Cardona, Eva Cardona, Herninia Cardona, Angelina Cardona all of Dallas and Teresa Cardona of GTO, Mexico, forty six grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Adolfo Cardona; three brothers Juan, Umaro, and Eliberto Cardona and one sister Adella Cardona.
