Obituary of Carlyne Vannoy Steed Andrews
Carlyne Vannoy Steed Andrews of Whitesboro, Texas passed away on March 27, 2014 after a brief illness, at the age of 79. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs at 2:30 p.m. Family Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Old Tarrant Cemetery. Carlyne was born May 27, 1934 in Collinsville, Texas to Carl D. and Estella Davis Vannoy. In 1956 she married Durwood Steed and they moved to Sulphur Springs, who preceded her in death in 1998. As a Tupperware representative and manager for 30 years in Sulphur Springs, Texas, she was witty, personable and outgoing, and she could sell anything. She loved every day of her job, traveling Hopkins and surrounding counties holding parties and making many friends. After the death of husband, Durwood, she reconnected with a high school sweetheart, Leo Andrews of Whitesboro, Texas. They married in 2001 and resided in Whitesboro. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Gerald Dan Vannoy, a sister, Cherry Carroll, her parents, Carl and Estelle Vannoy, and a daughter, Carla Steed Berry. She is survived by husband, Leo Andrews, of Whitesboro, his children, Tracy and Joe Mason of Whitesboro; Cheryl and Larry Nottingham and Gary Andrews; a sister, Wanda Blankenship and husband, Jim of Denton, Texas; children, Debra Steed Hoover and husband, David of Bedford, Texas; Lee Steed and wife, Sandra of Sulphur Springs, Texas; four grandchildren, Evan Hoover of New Orleans, La., Ryan Hoover of Austin, Texas; Ashley Steed Washburn of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Jessica Berry Peterson of Murfreesboro, Tenn. She is survived by one great granddaughter, Sarah Washburn, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a large circle of amazing friends. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville on April 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may also be made to the church at, 877 E.
