Obituary of Annie Lou Dickerson

Funeral services for Annie Lou Dickerson, age 103, of Sulphur Springs, TX, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Adrian and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Alec Bridges, Ricky Reynolds, Carlisle Clement, Bob Cody, Clyde Browning and Turk Morgan serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe France, Dr. Darrell Arnecke, Tom Young,Tom Sellers, Mike Hays and Frank Avaritt. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 prior to service time. Mrs. Dickerson passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. Mrs. Dickerson was born on December 15, 1910 in Lafayette, Texas the daughter of John G. Reynolds, Sr. and Annye (Lindsey) Reynolds. She married Ben H. Dickerson on August 22, 1932 in Greenville, TX. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Dickerson was a homemaker and worked at The Collegiate Shoppe for many years. She was an active member of AARP for over 40 years and was a member of the Waverly Club for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and The Crusaders Sunday School class for 92 years. She was a member of the UDA - United Daughters of the Confederacy and DAR – Daughters of American Revolution. She is survived by Ben Dickerson, Rita Dickerson, Jack Dickerson and wife Jo Beth, grandchildren, John Dickerson, Cassie Dickerson, Phil Dickerson and wife Nicole, Chad Dickerson and wife Starr, great-grandchildren, Braydon, Addison, Ellory and Junie, special friends, Julie Moody, Amy Dinger, Clyde and Beverly Browning, Bruce Lindsey, Dimple McPherson, Max Bradford and Janeen Francis and the caregivers from Rock Creek Health and Rehab Center, Chris, Ashtin, Desiree, Tamara, Trey, Laura and Regina, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, J. G. Reynolds, Jr., sister Marjorie Clements, grandson Robert “Rob” Dickerson. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery, P. O.
