Obituary of Winston E. Spigner

Funeral services for Winston Eugene Spigner, age 70 of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Pickton will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, March 21, 2014 at Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael J. Moore and Pastor Harold B. Nash Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Caney Cemetery in Pickton with Willie Porter, Timothy Ransom, LeBaron Crook, Darwin Sims, John Bethel and John Snow serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Genoa Spigner, Jr. Raymond Charles Petty, Roy Mack Spigner and Carl Carbin. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Spigner passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Carriage House Manor. Mr. Spigner was born on December 4, 1943 the son of Sutton and Etta Spigner. Upon graduation from high school he entered Texas Southern University in Houston, TX, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. He worked many years for the Greyhound Company and the Post Office. He is survived by daughters, Roslyn Berry and husband Harold of Sulphur Springs, Stefanie Spigner Snow and husband John of Houston, TX, son, Jason Spigner of Memphis, TN, sisters, Margie Adaway of Sulphur Springs, Dorothy Parker of Ft. Worth, Rowena Johnson of Sulphur Springs and Marcie Porter and husband Willie Ray of Sulphur Springs, TX, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
