Obituary of Lynn Dale Sewell

Funeral services for Lynn Dale Sewell, age 79, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Spence Chapel First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Lewis, Rev. Mark Bryant and Bro. Tommy Johnston officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jerry Polson, Jonathan Polson, Lloyd Douglas, Jerry Wilhite, Patrick Mockler, and Bobby Moon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Byker, Blake Brands, Tyson Douglas, and Zachary Mockler. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Sewell passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Hopkins County Hospital. Mr. Sewell was born on January 21, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, TX, the son of Dale and Mavis (Spencer) Sewell. He married Elizabeth Ann Thompson on December 21, 1955 in Sulphur Springs, TX. She survives. Mr. Sewell worked for H. D. Lee and Raytheon. He was member of the Masonic Lodge #221 and of First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sister Patricia Douglas and husband Norman, nephew, Lloyd Douglas, niece Chanda Byker Mockler. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Brad Byker and great nephew, Canyon Douglas. Memorials may be made to the Radio Bible Class at First Baptist Church, 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
