Obituary of Joe Campbell
Funeral services for Joe W. Campbell, age 86, of Sulphur Springs, TX, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Trinity Harvest Church of God with Rev. Ray Evers officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., prior to service time at Trinity Harvest Church of God. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery North with Nick Moore, Adam Stewart, Blake Stewart, Eric Hatley, Michael Harris and Gonzo Marroqquin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Goodman. Joe Campbell went to be with the Lord on May 2, with family and friends by his side. Mr. Campbell was born on August 2, 1926 in Sulphur Springs, TX, the son of Joseph Russell and Nancy Elizabeth (Brock) Campbell. He married Mary Evelyn Campbell February 14, 1948 in Sulphur Springs, TX. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2003. Mr. Campbell was an Engineer for the Texas Highway Department as an inspector for 41 years. He was a Sunday school teacher as well as a member of Trinity Harvest Church of God. He was a Gideon and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Harris and husband Bobby and Nancy Moore all of Sulphur Springs, TX, one sister, Jean Salters of Wichita Falls, TX, grandchildren, Nick Moore, Adam Stewart, Jodi Goodman, Blake Stewart, Michael Harris and Wendi Hatley, 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one great-granddaughter, Sara Grace Goodman and several brothers and sisters.
