Obituary of Margaret Crawford
Margaret Ann Crawford
May 23, 1939 –April 23, 2013
For a long time our mother Margaret Ann Crawford had been looking forward to being in heaven with Jesus. On April 23, 2013 at 4:58 a.m. her wish was granted when angels took her to be with her heavenly father.
Mother gave selflessly to others in need, providing clothing to needy school children and volunteering at the library to help people learn to read. She also taught her son-in-lawÂ’s mother Valia from Iran to read. Valia holds our mother dear to her heart.
Mother had a passion for sewing and would make different things for relatives and friends. For example, she made some 50 flags for a float for her niece Anna. Another of her projects was building a chicken house for her good friend Karen Hyde. The finished chicken house had laying boxes made from old cabinet drawers replete with attached tassels, a wind chime, and a weather vane. She also helped her friend Joe Orobio with redesigning his home. In more recent years, she floored her whole house with red oak. Mother also loved creating stain glass, dancing, and traveling.
Many in Hopkins County will remember her as an Owner of Southern Optical Supply for many years.
Margaret is survived by her children Ken Evan Hinton of San Antonio and Laura Ann Ataee and son in law Mahmood of Grand Prairie. She has two grandchildren, Christopher Bryan Ataee and wife Lisa of Hobart, Indiana and Margaret Louise Ataee of Grand Prairie; four great grandchildren, Christopher Bryan Jr., Katherine Ann, James Alan, and Joshua Scott Ataee. Margaret is also survived by two sisters, Norma Ray of Sulphur Springs and Ida Beaudin of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Laird Crawford and Anna Louise Ragan Crawford
She will be missed by her family and friends.
