Obituary of Vallie Gilbreath

Funeral services for Vallie Lajoy “Joyce” Gilbreath, 81, of Yantis, will be held at Yantis First Baptist Church on Friday, April 5, 2013 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services following immediately at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Shannon Hassell and Brandon Stribling officiating. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Kemmy Bevill, Keith Gilbreath, Delane Graham, Tony Gilbreath, Barry Bevill, Terry Bevill, and Shannon Bevill serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Attaway and the Ladies 3 Sunday School Class. Vallie LaJoy “Joyce” Gilbreath left to be with her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. Joyce was born in Wood County, Texas in June 1931, and she remained a Wood County resident throughout her life. Joyce was married to Calvin Norman Gilbreath on September 15, 1946, and was married to him for 59 years before he preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by three children and their spouses Jerry Gilbreath and Dawna, Rick and Marla Gilbreath, and David and Debra Stribling. Thirteen grandchildren and spouses Patty Taylor, Sharrock Gilbreath, Clint Gilbreath, Brison and Jayden Modrall, Jana Gilbreath, Jason and Heather Gilbreath, Darren and Jodi Gibson, David Stribling Jr., Brandon and Becky Stribling, Rhandi Fails, and Baylee and Jarrod Brown. Thirteen great-grandchildren; Alex and Abbi Taylor, Jessica, Sam, Kate, and Bella Gilbreath, Jill and Julie Benoist, Caroline Gibson, Amber Stribling, Alexis and Brayden Stribling, and Case Fails. She is also survived by two sisters Maxine Gilbreath and Marcille Graham, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Finnie and Jessie Bevill, five brothers Joe Bevill, Glenn Bevill, James Bevill, Frank Bevill, and Troy Bevill, one sister Ruth Gilbreath and one son Norman Dale Gilbreath. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Reflections Hospice P.O. Box 1914 Quitman, Texas 75783.
