Obituary of Pauleta Pogue

Pauleta Pogue, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2013. She was surrounded by her husband and two children, in her home, at the time of her passing. Mrs. Pogue was a retired teacher with a servantÂ’s heart for her family, church, community, and students. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 3:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church with burial in City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 prior to service time at First Baptist Church. David and Sandra Baucom will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shepherding Four Sunday School Class. Pauleta was born on October 28, 1934 in Cooper, TX, the daughter of Paul and Opal Faye (Lancaster) Fleming. She married Richard Hurley Pogue on July 27, 1956 in Sulphur Springs, TX. He survives. Pauleta was a teacher from 1956 to 1995. She graduated from ETSU with a Bachelor of Science. She was a recipient of the Texas Terrific Teacher award from 1984-1985. She was a member of the Republican Women of Texas. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Tamra Pogue and husband Frank Keck of Sulphur Springs, son, Paul Pogue and wife Stephanie of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Kenzi Brook Pogue of Emory and Emma Grace Pogue of Sulphur Springs, sister-in-laws Juanita Hooks and Alice Francis and husband Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Richard and Ken Pogue. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Baylor T. Boone Pickens Hospital.
