Obituary of Silas Thompson

Funeral services for Silas Wayne Thompson, age 87, of Emblem will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Stephens and Jim Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow at Peerless Cemetery with Anthony Fisher, Phillip Wayne Wilburn, Adam Wilburn, Roger Dean Thompson II, Jeremy Thompson, Seth Thompson and Scotty Joe Thompson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Thompson was born on September 27, 1925 in Hugo, OK, the son of Silas Wayne and Mytle Luckey Thompson. He married Theo Edna Cockrum on July 23, 1944 in Peerless. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2011. Mr. Thompson was a dairyman and rancher. He is survived by his children, Ruby Wilburn and husband Phillip of Sulphur Springs, Paulette Fisher of Ridgeway, Randell Thompson of Norwood, CO, Scotty Thompson and wife Pat of Emblem, Roger Thompson and wife Donna of Ridgeway, grandchildren, Phillip Wayne Wilburn, Adam Wilburn, Anthony Fisher, Kimberly Whaley and husband Robert, Kristy Buchanan and husband Kevin, Jeremy Thompson and wife Ashley, Seth Thompson and wife Amanda, Tera Alexander and husband Brandon, Tyrell Thompson, Talon Thompson, Roger Thompson II and wife Tabitha, Scotty Joe Thompson and wife Kacie, great-grandchildren, Brittany Whaley, Kelsey Buchanan, Silas Whaley, Makayla Buchanan, Abilgail Whaley, Stevanna Star Buchanan, Callie Jo Thompson, Gracie Thompson, Shaley Thompson, Trevor Thompson, Madie Thompson, Tatum Thompson, Roger Dean Thompson III, Austin Thompson, Elijah Derrick Thompson, Brooklyn Pearl Thompson, Zachary Tyler Thompson, Ranger Wyatt Thompson and Ethan Leewright Thompson. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Scarlett Marie Thompson, son –in-law, Steve Fisher.
