Obituary of Charles McDaniel
Memorial services for Charles Raymond McDaniel, 79, of Sulphur Springs, TX will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Lewis and Bro. Mark Bryant officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. prior to Memorial Service. Charles passed away on February 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born on January 21, 1934 in Madison, KS to Charlie Russell and Dica Lavanda (Dixie Oldham) McDaniel. He married Wyvonne Clapp in Borger, TX in 1955. She survives. Charles served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He graduated from West Texas State University with a degree in Geology. For 37 years he worked as a Production Engineer for Diamond Shamrock and B.P., in the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma. He retired in 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, as well as the American Petroleum Institute, and Ducks Unlimited. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by daughters, Shannon McDaniel Forsman and husband Wade of Sulphur Springs, Sharron Andrews and husband Jeff of Pampa, son, Shawn McDaniel and wife Cara of Grapevine; grandchildren, Sarah Forsman, Rachel Andrews, Drew Forsman, Collin McDaniel, Rebekah Andrews, Ruth Andrews, Aaron McDaniel, brothers; Clarence McDaniel and wife Phyllis of Borger, James McDaniel and wife Nikki of Lindale, John McDaniel and wife Annette of Lubbock, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ROC at the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, TX or the American Cancer Society.
