Obituary of Maxwell Poole
Graveside services for Maxwell L. Poole, age 88, of Eastland, TX, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Eastland Cemetery with Larry Roberts, Pastor of the Church of Christ in Eastland, TX, officiating. Pallbearers will be Tim Ingram, Jake Poole, Rusty Poole, Chris Oldham, Jason Poole, Charlie Brown, Doug Snyder and Greg Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ingram, Stanley Underwood and Dylan Bullard. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Bakker Funeral Home prior to services time. Mr. Poole passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs, TX. Mr. Poole was born on May 28, 1924 in Lapile, AR, the son of James F. and Elizabeth (Jackson) Poole. He married Lossie Gilkey on February 25, 1946 in Eastland, TX. She survives. Mr. Poole served in the United States Army. He worked for AMOCO and United Geophysical in Houston for 20 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader and a lifelong member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was a master gardener and loved the outdoors especially fishing and boating on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, AR. In addition to his wife, Lossie, he is lovingly survived by his daughter, Sharon Hughes and husband G. V. of Sulphur Springs, son, Max Poole and wife Pam of Flowood, MS, brother, Jack Poole and wife Gail of Doyline, LA, grandchildren, Darby Papania of Laurel, MS, Rendee Bullard of Grapevine, TX, Christinna Oldham and husband Chris of Ft. Worth, TX, Jason Poole and wife Jessica of Pearl, MS, Laura Bullock and husband Ricky of Brandon, MS, great-grandchildren, Dylan Bullard of Grapevine, TX, Brooke Flores of Houston, TX, nieces and nephews, Tim Ingram and Johnny Ingram of El Dorado, AR, Becky and Charlie Brown, Rusty and Jack Poole all of Minden, LA, Barbara Poole of Orinda, CA, Bob Poole of Newton, MA and Jim Poole of Somerset, VA, Joann Dennis and Jerri Sue Poole of El Dorado, AR, Janis Peterson of Hot Springs, AR and Libby Kokinos of Minden, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Curtis Poole and Rudolph Poole, sisters, Helen Hendricks, Mary Taunton and Estelle Ingram.
