Obituary of Joy Pinkerton
Funeral services for Joy Jeanine “McMakin” Pinkerton, age 81, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Spence Chapel, First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs with Rev. Rick Wilson and Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Spence Chapel. Interment will follow at Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline, TX, with Jacob Glidewell, Thomas Glidewell, Marvin Wilson, Rory Myers II, David Myers, David Stanfield, Ben Braly and Jeremy Roemisch serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Pinkerton peacefully went home to Jesus on Monday, December 31, 2012. She was born on June 22, 1931 to Philip and Lillie McMakin at the “forks in the road” Grand Saline, TX. Jeanine married the love of her life, Joe Allen Pinkerton on July 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1997. Mrs. Pinkerton was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Larry Pinkerton and wife Sharon, Jo Ellen Glidewell and husband Tom, Karen Wilson and husband Rick, Frances Myers and husband Rory, brother, Bob McMakin and wife Glenda, grandchildren, Saedra Pinkerton and husband Ben Braly, Beverley Morgan, Amanda Stanfield and husband David, Jacob Glidewell and wife Stephanie, Thomas Glidewell, Marvin Wilson and wife Amber, Laresa Roemisch and husband Jeremy, Rory Myers II, David Myers and fiancée, Lacy Rodriguez and husband Rene, great-grandchildren, Nolan and Lilly Braly, Donovan, Michaela and Azlynne Stanfield, Cadence and Alianna Glidewell, Benjamin and Caden Wilson, Harrison Roemisch, Alex Myers, Aiden and Jollen Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Television Ministry of First Baptist Church, 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
