Obituary of Glenn Thompson

Funeral services for Glenn W. Thompson, age 90, of Sulphur Springs, TX, formerly of Harlansburg, PA, will be conducted at 11:30 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Eden officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Roger Thompson, Roy Thompson, Juan Olvera, Roger Bryant, Reed Bryant serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Tjitte Tunier. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Thompson passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Carriage House Manor. Mr. Thompson was born on June 26, 1922 in Harlansburg, PA, the son of W. H. and Della (Seibert) Thompson. He married Estella Marie Adams on February 10, 1949 in Plain Grove, PA. She survives. Mr. Thompson was a salesman for Glidden Paint Company for 35 years and retired in 1983. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was head mechanic on B-17 bombers and after the war was over he went to Japan for one year in counter intelligence. He is survived by sons, Dr. Roger Thompson and wife Reggie of Chattanooga, TN, Roy Thompson and wife Pat of Baltimore, MD, daughter, Lyna Jane Bryant and husband Roger of Sulphur Springs, 6 grandchildren, locally, Lauren Olvera and husband Juan, Reed Bryant, Leslie Hans and husband Josh, great-grandchildren, locally, Jasmine, Maya and Adrian Olvera. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Russell Thompson, grandson, Adam Glenn Thompson. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
