Obituary of Jessie Pope

Funeral services for Jessie Louise Pope, age 77, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bennie Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Michael Matthews, Jon Swindell, Lee Murrell, James Morgan, Kevin Rohr and Jimmy Pope serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Pope passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pope was born on August 10, 1935 in Floydada, TX, the daughter of Burt and Ida Mae (Cunningham) Delcore. She married Truman Leon Pope on November 25, 1954 In Durant, OK. He survives. Mrs. Pope was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Pope was an expert at restoring antique and old dolls. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Deborah Morey and husband Bob, Leon Pope and wife Denise all of Sulphur Springs, daughter-in-law, Jacquiline Thompson Pope of Royce City, 8 grandchildren, Michael Matthews, Jon Swindell and Randy Wilson that live in Sulphur Springs and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Clifford Dean Pope and brothers, Billy Bob Delcore and Harrell Lee Delcore.
