Obituary of Dovie Garrett
Funeral service for Dovie Garrett, 80, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 3, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with Jimmy Winfield, Ron McCuine, Red Layne, Terry Rowe, Travis Ashley and George Andrew serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Garrett passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Carriage House Manor. Mrs. Garrett was born on September 6, 1932 in Lamar County, the daughter of James William and Otis (Phillips) Boyer. She married Troy Garrett on April 4, 2004 and he survives. Mrs. Garrett was a homemaker and a member of Shooks Chapel Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Connaughton and husband Larry of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Greg Connaughton and wife Becky of Emory and Kevin Connaughton and wife Melissa of Arizona, great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Ryan Connaughton of Arizona, Kayla Roth of Paris, TX, Brittney Pitre and husband Brandon of Emory, Nichole Connaughton and Fiancée, Seth Green of Emory, Kyle Evans of Emory, sisters, Gladys Brownlee of Pickton, Darlene McCollum and husband M. D. of Pittsburg along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Glenn Boyer, Clyde Boyer and one sister, Bonnie Bryan.
