Obituary of Richard Moore
Funeral services for Richard Bryan Moore, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, TX, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., prior to service time. Mr. Moore passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Moore was born on November 16, 1922 in Fairfield, IL, the son of Bryan James and Cecile Chloe (Ethridge) Moore. He married Lois A. Anderson on February 24, 1946 in Bloomington, IN. She survives. Mr. Moore served in the Army Air Corp from January 6, 1943 to January 19, 1946 during WWII. He received 2 Bronze Stars for service in the South Pacific. He was a 50 year member of the Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons, Monroe Lodge No. 22, Knights Temples in Bloomington, IN, and Shriners – Murat Temple in Indianapolis. He was a member of First Christian Church of Tyler, TX. Mr. Moore worked for Ralph Rogers and Co as Vice President for 32 years. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, children, Karen S. Willis and husband Jimmy, Philip C. Moore and wife Martha, Elaine A. Cohen and husband Philip; sister, Mary Jean Ramsey; grandchildren, Holly Folmer, Betsy Mulder, Suzanna Moore, Elaine Mott, Rachel Moore, Richard Brad Willis and Brian C. Cousins; great grandchildren, Carson Hicks, Loryn Willis, Aiden Mott, Gavin Mott, Samuel Holbrook, Elena Mulder, Olivia Mulder, Luke Mulder, Collin Mulder, Chloe Willis, Cole Willis, Carson Folmer and Chandler Folmer. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Simes. Memorials may be made to the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial, P. O. Box 533,Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482.
