Obituary of Frank Burns

Funeral services for Frank M. Burns, age 87, of the Miller Grove Community, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Ricky Williams, Gary Williams, H. C. Burns, Rodney Lennon, Brian Lennon, and Mac Garrett serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to service time at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Burns passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Carriage House Manor. Mr. Burns was born on May 23, 1925 in Miller Grove, TX, the son of James Lenzy and Lessie I. (Green) Burns. He married Gladis M. Harrison on July 28, 1967 in Cumby, TX. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2012. Mr. Burns was a farmer and a rancher and a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs and the Busy Mans Bible Class. Mr. Burns is survived by his step-daughter, Cathy Nordin and husband Johnny of Sulphur Springs, TX, daughter-in-law, Charlotte Burns of Miller Grove, TX, grandchildren, Ashlee Burns, Jon Eric and Laura Nordin and Landon and Carla Nordin, 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, W. Larry Burns, brothers, Johnny Burns, Corder Burns, sisters, Woody Hurst, Roxi Hulstine, Irene Dodd, Lerine Johnson, Martha Johnson, Mary Jim Mosley, Omi Garrett and Lola Long.
