Obituary of Mildred Hinton

Funeral services for Mildred Morine Hinton, age 100, of the Arbala Community, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Suche officiating. Interment will follow at Arbala Cemetery with Gary Henderson, Jo Ann Henderson, Donna K. Chamness, Lynn Smith, Freddy Chamness, Reggie Durch, John Noe, Jr., and Junior Hinton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Arvis lee Tanton, Billy Aven, Bobby Aven, and members of Arbala United Methodist Church Sunday school. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Hinton passed away September 27, 2012 at Sunny Springs Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Hinton was born on December 2, 1911 in Hopkins County the daughter of William Bill and Sammie (Milner) Tanton. Mrs. Hinton alongside her husband worked in the dairy business for 30 years. She also taught school for a little while and worked as a nurseÂ’s aid at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital for 15 years. Mrs. Hinton was a member of Arbala United Methodist Church. She is survived by sons, Dan Hinton and Charles Hinton both from the Arbala Community; grandchildren, Todd Hinton, Lynn Marie Harrison, Kimberly Ann Hinton, Charlie Hinton, Jeff Mays and Jill Mays Ward; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Virginia Tanton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan E. Hinton; sons, Ray Hinton and Roger Carl Hinton; brothers, Joe Tanton, Buford Tanton and W. B. Tanton; sisters, Mozelle Sartin and Nevanell Aven.
