Obituary of Elmer Miller

Memorial service for Elmer Raymond Miller, 60, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday September 22 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Evers and Bro. Danny Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery with his nephews Jason Puckett, Nicholas (Nick) Miller, Nathan Miller, Travis (Scooter) Cantrell Jr., David Cantrell, and Chuck White serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rowdy Fewel, Jerry Cooper, and Tim Crain. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 21, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Elmer passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at home. He was born July 17, 1952 in Waterloo Iowa, the son of Raymond Howard and Billee Lou Parrott Miller. He married Sue Gibbons Miller on April 20, 1985, in Sulphur Springs. Elmer moved to Sulphur Springs Tx in 1981. During his residence in Texas he was employed at Ocean Spray for 21 years, and worked for Legend Aircraft as a mechanic for 7 years. He then worked for Maneck Energy until he became ill. ElmerÂ’s church home was Trinity Harvest Church of God. His life was full of humour, love, and hard work. He loved the opportunity to help people. He was the man you could depend on when you were in need. He was very talented at building and fixing things. He especially loved the challenge to fix something that was deemed unfixable. He loved road trips. His friends will tell you he didnÂ’t know how to tell time when you were on a road trip him. He also loved to hunt. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sue Miller of Sulphur Springs, his mother, Billee Miller of Baraboo Wisconsin, his children; Dakota Ray Miller and Kayla Cheyenne Miller of Sulphur Springs, Trisha Alice Yapp and husband Derek of Arena Wisconsin, Tammy Kay Phetteplace and husband Danial of Baraboo Wisconsin, his grandsons; Kole Yapp of Arena Wisconsin, Konnor and Mikael Phetteplace of Baraboo Wisconsin, two sisters; Billee Lou (Dou) Bayou and Alice Anderson of Madison Wisconsin, Shelia Rae Swatsell and husband Bob of Sulphur Springs, two brothers; Bryan Lyle Miller and wife Patty of Lavalle Wisconsin, Blane Howard Miller and wife Linda of Gilberts Illinois, mother in-law; June Gibbons of Sulphur Springs, and fourteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Miller and his grandparents; Lyle and Pearl Miller, and Elmer and Dora Parrott. Elmer will be missed by all and always remembered.
