Obituary of Ravis Hickman

Ravis Samuel Hickman, 78, of Emory, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1934, in Beinville Parish, LA, the son of Prentice and Lola (Foster) Hickman. He served in the United States Army and was an educator in the State of Texas. He married Mattie Gwen Porter and she preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by step-sons, Rookie Phillips of Wills Point, Al Phillips and wife Rere of Emory, Roy Phillips and wife Deanna of Fair Fax, Virginia, Lance Phillips and wife Tonya of Dallas, grandchildren, Cody Hickman of Mesquite, Lorraine Phillips of Wills Point, Lanna and husband Allen of Hawaii, Leslie Phillips of Wills Point, Chase Phillips of Emory, Amanda Phillips of Emory, Kathryn Phillips of Fair Fax, Aubree Phillips of Fair Fax, Tiffany Ayres of Dallas, Jay Owens and wife Jenn of Dallas, Mattie Phillips of Dallas, sister, Christine Bates of Louisiana, daughter-in-law, Marcia Hickman Kessler of Mesquite, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, one granddaughter, Valerie Phillips, and one son, Tony Hickman. There will be no formal services.
